Zigwai A. Fanda is a visionary social and environmental entrepreneur dedicated to transforming Africa’s approach to sustainability through tangible climate action, circular economy innovation, and robust community development. With a strong academic foundation in Chemical Engineering (BSc/MSc) from the University of Aberdeen, UK, Zigwai has strategically built a career that seamlessly bridges the worlds of engineering, sustainability, and entrepreneurship. Her unique expertise allows her to translate complex environmental policies into actionable, industry-leading solutions across the continent. Driven by a mission for systemic change, Zigwai founded Climate Change and Circular Economy Africa (CCCE Africa), a pioneering non-governmental organization (NGO) committed to bridging the critical gap between policy, innovation, and industry across Africa’s sustainability landscape. Under her leadership, CCCE Africa fosters vital cross-sector collaboration to tackle the continent’s most pressing environmental and economic challenges, positioning Africa as a global leader in climate-conscious industrialization. As a multi-hyphenate entrepreneur, she is also the founder of the LadyBamboo Group of Companies (LadyBamboo Ltd, LadyBamboo Construction, and LadyBambooDaily Essentials). In this capacity, she has led several high-impact sustainable construction and design projects, including notable work on KOKO beach, Ziba resort, and the Upbeat Recreation Centre. Zigwai remains passionately committed to human empowerment, leveraging her diverse platform as an author, investor, and evangelist to drive positive socio-economic impact across communities.
